M-11 Shtorm
History
M-11 Shtorm (NATO SA-N-3 Goblet)(GRAU 4K60) is an surface to air missile that was first seen on the Moskva from 1967 onwards but only officially operational from 1969.
M-11 originally would use a modified version of the ZiF-101 launcher used by the M-1 Volna system. That proved to be impractical so a new launcher was developed, the B-189.
2 variants were operational, 4K60 Shtorm (With V611 missiles, NATO SA-N-3A) and 4K65 Shtorm-M (With V611M missiles, NATO SA-N-3B)
A total of 25 systems were produced.
Used on
- Moskva class - 2 * B-189 twin launchers, each fed from twin six-round drum magazines, for a total of 180 missiles.
- Kara class - 2 * B-189 twin launchers, 80 missiles total on board
- Kresta II class - 2 * twin launcher, 72 missile magazine
- Kiev class - 2 * twin launcher
