Bexar Locomotive Company

Bexar Locomotive Company was founded in 1894 in San Antonio through a merger of 4 manufacturing companies from around Texas.

Today, the company is in direct competition with GE and EMD and has a large export market. Mexico, Rio Grande, and Australia are its largest export customers. Bexar, in conjunction with Nueces Car and Foundry, was the primary supplier of equipment for the railways in Cuba.
