AN/SPG-55

History
The AN/SPG-55 is an guidance radar developed for use with the RIM-2 Terrier missile. It replaced the AN/SPQ-5 and was part of the Mk 76 Terrier FCS. This radar was first deployed in 1961, onboard the Long Beach and the Coontz class. Deployed in 4 versions:
SPG-55A
part of the Mk 76 Mod 1 FCS. originally used by the Long Beach and Coontz class ships
SPG-55B
used on the Coontz class. part of the Mk 76 Mod 2 FCS.
SPG-55C
used on the Bainbridge, Leahy class, Vittorio Veneto and Andrea Doria class.
SPG-55D
Part of the New Threat Upgrade (NTU) for Terrier ships, in which they are part of the Mk 76 Mod 10 FCS. These were used on board the Belknap class and the Long Beach. This allowed these ships to guide the RIM-67 Standard ER missile.

3 variants of the SPG-55 are drawn. None of them are clearly defined as a certain type, although they are sorted top to bottom in order of age. The red line defines the mounting deck, everything below this line should be covered in an installation.
