35mm/1000 KDG Millennium GDM-008
History
The Millenium gun is a land-based AA system that has been adapted for naval use. It was originally developed as the 'Skyshield' system. Millenium GDM-008 is in use by the Danish, Taiwanese and Venezuelan navies. It uses a 35mm/79 weapon with a maximum rate of fire of 1000 rounds per minute. The weapon can be set to different rates: single shots, 200 rounds per minute or 1000 rounds per minute.
The mount is unmanned and has to be controlled by an external fire control system. In at least some cases the Saab CEROS 200 is used.
