Type 05 AAV

History

The Type 05 amphibious armored vehicle (Chinese: 05式两栖装甲车) is a family of amphibious tracked armored fighting vehicles developed by Norinco in early 2000s. The vehicle is specially designed for high-speed swimming, maximum speed on water is 25 km/h.

• ZTD-05 or ZLT-05 (VN-16 for export) - Assault gun/Amphibious tank variant armed with ZPL-98A 105mm rifled tank gun.
• ZBD-05 (VN-18 for export) - Infantry fighting vehicle variant armed with ZPT-99 30mm autocannon and HJ-73C ATGM.

Each variant includes three images: The top one is in single color, while the middle and bottom ones are in standard PLAN Marine Corps digital camouflage. The bottom one shows the status during high-speed swimming, with the hydraulically actuated bow deployed and tracks retracted into the hull..
