Foreign Relations of Texas
Texas has embassies in 184 countries. Texas has a consular serices agreement with the Rio Grande, in which the two countries provide consular services to each other's citizens at a number of locations around the world. Currently, Texas and Riogrande offer consular services to each other at 28 locations.
Rio Grande Treaty Area
Texas has an open borders agreement with the Rio Grande Republic, allowing citizens of both countries to freely cross the borders, requiring only an ID card to pass through.
In addition, Mexico is also a signatory to the Rio Grande Treaty Area, therefore giving Texans, Riograndense, and Mexicans preferential treatment when crossing. Trucks and any suspicious vehicles will still be pulled over if required. This treaty has had a negative effect on the border with the United States, in that border controls are tighter at the Texan-American border.

Cuba
Texas has an embassy in Cuba. Cuba's relationship with Texas post-revolution is a unique one, given Texas' location and economic strength. This led to machinery and equipment being built in Texas and shipped to Cuba, as Texas was not affected by the embargo imposed by the United States. Though Cuba has sourced equipment from other countries like the Soviet Union, Iran, and China, this relationship with Texas continues today and Texan equipment still makes up more than half of all Cuban machinery imports.
Texas is a popular destinations for Cuban expats, who often travel via the Yucatan peninsula.
Eurasia
Salide
Salide and Texas have had a positive relationship since Texas' independence in 1836. As with the United Kingdom, the two countries have been close trade partners. Salide was also one of the few countries since Texas' independence willing to loan money to Texas.
British Confederation
The United Kingdom had no desire to interfere with the internal conflict between Mexico and Texas, however after 1848, trade relations formally commenced.

Soviet Union / Russia
Texas had open trade relations with the Soviet Union and afterwards with its primary successor state, Russia.
North Korea
Texas has an embassy in Pyongyang, North Korea. Through a consular service agreement, this embassy provides consular services for Riograndense and Mexican nationals who wish to visit North Korea. Very little trade has commenced with North Korea.
