History
The A290 was an Australian developed radar, possibly taken as a variant of the SC1. Entered service 1944-45, as an air search radar with surface search capability. Wholly Australian made, including components. Despite being similar to the SC1, the shape and proportions differed as well as motor and spindles used. The SC1 had a 2-3deg inclination from vertical as well, the A290 was mounted vertical.
