History

the AN/SPS-43 was a long range air search radar in the US Navy. The radar gave 2D (Range and bearing) information. 2 antennae were used: the SPS-29 small ship antenna or the 12.8 m wide large ship antenna, the SPS-37. The system was first introduced in 1961.
