Caledonia

Caledonia, officially the Kingdom of Norway, I a country in the North, that is partially isolated and is an archipelago country. Consisting of many small and large islands, ranging from the cold North to the more tempered east, with hazardouse waters between. Geographically Caledonia is an large Nation with a lot of resources. The capital city and the largest city is Haming.

Caledonia is a very old Nation, where there have been documented as far back as 782, but it haven't always been one big country. In it early life Caledonia consisted of several smaller kingdoms and dukedoms.

The 7 kingdoms and dukes Kingdoms: - The Caledin kingdom; the oldest of the 7 kingdoms and the most prominent, that had a well developed culture, was well known for it's riches and as a prominent power.

- The Donisar or Kingdom Donisars; is among the older kingdoms. Was among the smaller country, but had a well educated and trained population, with the highest numbers of scholars. The Kingdom had one of the most well known Royal guard that was under direct command og the King, "The Royal Donisars royal Knights" that have managed to survive into today and are now part of the Caledonia Royal Guard and trained as a commando unit.

- Magrens Royals Kingdom; and old but short lived kingdom, compared to the other kingdoms. Was often described in diplomatic notes as a pirate kingdoms or "difficult". Very little is know about the Kingdom, but what is known it lost a war against The Kingdom of Barsker. According to history records: The Magrens tried to start a coup in Barsker, when the old king was dying, but the 3th prince got wind off it and in short note executed the 2th and 4th prince and several lords and went on full rampage into the Magrens, he didn't stop until the 1th prince, managed to convince him to stop. But by then he had already destroyed the entire Magens royal family and it is often described as a dark history in the Barsker history books.

- Caroser Knights kingdom, was a small and fairly old Kingdom established by a legendary knight of the old saga. In it early years it was a country that was recognized as a country that fought above it's belt, but over the years started to struggle. Where little is known what happened to them, they become part of "Duke Mirade the 3th", in around year 850.

- Kingdom of Hagenas was established by the Caledin on one of the many islands the Caledin had in the 979. It was given as a gift to a very prominent Lord that won the heart of a princes the king of that time adored. Altough it was a Kingdom, it had a very close tie to Caledin and often relied on Caledin politics.

- Calapatic kingdom, was a kingdom consisting of many islands and is recognized and disputed as the 2th oldest country, some historiens belive the kingdom have existed as far back as the year 400 in some form. but there is only written documents and evidence of ot as far back as 786.

Dukes: - Dukedom Greenwich: was a fairly young dukedom and know to be among the riches dukedoms in the country. The dukedom still exist today under Caledonias flag. The current Duke: "Duke Petter von Margrave Trieds Greenwich the 17th" is listed as among the most influenced and riches people in the world. Due to old agreement he have a permanent seat in the Caledonia government.

- Dukedom Mirad: a old dukedom, stamming back from The time of the Caledin kingdom. Not as big and rich as dukedom Greenwich, but is a very respectable dukedom. All King's of Caledonia, have there attendants coming from Mirad, and Duke Michel the 23th of Mirad and Caroser work as a personal advicer to the King of Caledonia and have a seat in the Caledonia Parlament.

- Dukedom Madon: is an old dukedom that got a short life. A dukedom that was totally annihilated during the 4th prince of Margrens rampage. They was know as a difficult dukedom, a population that lived in poverty but several Lords that lived a rich life. Historiens belive the dukedom was involved in several dark operation. There was written in old notes about the nobility from Madon as problematic.

Becoming Caledonia

In 1589 the aging King Leopold V of Caledin, started on the work to unite the seven Kingdoms and Dukedom into on large country, this wasn't done until 1623. When his sone King Leopold VI signed the treaty of dismantling of the 7 kingdoms an establishment of Kingdom of Caledonia. In the early years, there was a lot of problems, specially when it come to politics, but with the help of Duke's of Greenwich and Mirad, they managed to get trough several political problems, and over the years several prominent people come to the power and put Caledonia on the map.

History

No one is sure when the first people arrived, but it is belivede the first people appeared around 4000-2500 BC, since there have been found small amount of evidence from that period, but a lot of evidence of human activity already in the Bronze age.

Around the 5th to the 10th century is known as the era of exploration, and during those time periode come the inspiration of establishing kingdoms and dukedom although they wasn't truly called kingdoms and dukedom back then, just now in the modern era we call them that. Lot of the early history from that era come from other countries where they traveled to.

In the 16th century there was a power struggle among the nobility and the government that worked close together to manage the country on behalf of the Royal family. After more than 2 month with problems, the king ordered his Royal Guard consisting of the Caledonia Royal Guard and The Royal Donisars royal Knights to take control of the government and the Nobility and put them all under house arrest. 2 week later the King had them all meet him in "the 7 Kings hall" of his palace, where he was extremely furious of them and fired the entire government and had all the nobility lose most of their power up until then. First 6 month later, the nobility regained some of it previous powers, but they received a lot of restrictions and the king loyal adviser Duke Mirad received a seat in the parlament and Duke Greenwich received a seat in the Government, and basically become the kings watch dogs.

- Duke Mirad noted in his personal Notes: "I have never seen the King or hear any pst history from my family about the King being this angry. During the meeting in "the 7 Kings hall", every single person that was there never muttered a word, the only one that spoke, or more jelled, was the King. People that was there says they was truly scared of there life for the first time in their life, many of the nobility belivede that this was this.

It goes down in history that not a single people in that government managed to get back in politics, some become a farmer, some become a scholar/teacher. And the nobility had lost their trust in the king, and the King that come after him, wasn't very "nice" to the nobility. The nobility had truly destroyed their harmony with the royal family. And after that, there would never be any nobility connection between the nobility, the government and the Royal family. The government was for the common people, by the common people. The birth of the modern Caledonia government, there would be several changes to the government over the years. but the King stod after this very strong among the common people, they felt he spoke the mind of the people to the nobility and the government during that power struggle.
