History

This mounting was developed from the ZiF-31 and ZiF-74 mountings. The ZiF-71 was the single mounting. Development started in 1955, prototyped in 1956 and operational in 1957. The mounting was never very succesful and even before it entered service a request for a completely new mount was made. This became the 57mm/75 AK-725
