History
The AN/SPS-12 was in effect an improved AN/SPS-6. It was an L-band medium air and surface search radar. The first one was delivered in September 1953. The radar was retired in the 1980s.
The transmitter of SPS-12 was used together with the antenna of the Dutch HSA LW-03 radar to create the SPS-501 radar for the Canadian Navy
