History
The Mk 41 VLS was first fitted on the Ticonderoga class cruiser Bunker Hill. The system was designed to fire the Standard missile and the Tomahawk cruise missile. The Mk 41 VLS was build up from 8-cell modules which could be combined with an 5-cell strikedown module, with an crane on it,to 29 cell or 61 cell blocks. The later fits did not include the strikedown module and thus have 32 or 64 cell blocks. Export installations of 8, 16, 40 and 48 cells have also been build

Part description
The drawing has the below deck installation drawn in, which requires covering for use on a finished Shipbucket drawing. Approximate deck levels around the launcher are drawn in red, the height of the covering that should hide structural parts of the launcher is drawn in green.
