The Skoric State(Skoric: Skoríska Staten), Officially the Skoric Peoples Socialist State(Skoric: Skoríska Folksociále Staten) is a federal socialist state situated in northern Ariethia, making it one of two federally socialist states in Ariethia. With an area of about 2.2 million square kilometers and a population of almost 140 million, it is the sixth-most populous country. It was organized as a federal union of autonomous socialist states, the largest of which is the Theamak FAS. The Skoric State shares land borders with Lilabor to the west, and Archalae, Wykonn, Palaen and Zoble to the south. It shares maritime borders with Lilabor and the Deysian Federation through the Trans-Anhlietian and Lars Gulf. Its capital is Suric, although its most populous city and financial center is Theamak. After the end of the civil war in 1911, the Skoric State would become the first ever constitutionally socialist country.
 +
 +
Skoríska was first inhabited in the Paleolithic age, with organized societies emerging in the first millennium on the Black River in modern-day Helnnogard. Up until the 11’th century, Skoríska consisted of various independent kingdoms and city-states up until the 17’th century, when they effectively formed a confederation to fight Lilaborn raids from the west. The confederation would eventually be succeeded by the Empire of Skoríska in the early 18’th century, before being overthrown by socialist revolutionaries in 1911. As a result of treaties made with Lilabor, most of its western territories were integrated into East Lilabor as a way to appease Lilaborn expansionism.

The Skoric Daugrech, officially the Skoric Peoples Socialist State, is a nation that spanned much of northern Ariethia from 1911 to 2027. It was a traditionally federal socialist union(FSU), composed of 22 regions of limited individual autonomy headed by a supreme council. Its economy and government were quite centralized up until the late 2000's. The most populous city which is also its largest financial center is Suric, In the Skuraggard SAS. At the time of its inception, it was the first true constitutionally socialist country.
+
Skoríska went through a period of prolonged warfare in the 20’th century. After the end of its civil war, it underwent rapid industrialization in the 1920’s and 1930’s in what was considered an economic miracle. The restoration of economic stability and the undertaking of massive public works projects alongside a mass re-armament scheme briefly made it the center of all trade on the Ariethnian continent. In late 1939, the Holy Republic began mobilizing its military in a bid to overthrow socialist rule and establish various satellite states throughout the western regions of the Skoric State. Due to this, the Skoric State would launch a pre-emptive invasion in early 1940, launching the Pan-Ariethnian conflict. It would conquer most of Ariethia but failed to achieve most of its strategic objectives within Lilabor, leading to a stalemate in 1947 and an end to hostilities. Its rapid economic development and sphere of influence would cement its status as a superpower.

The Empire of Askoria was formed in 1778, uniting the 58 Holy Kingdoms, and being responsible for the modern borders of the Skoric Daugrech. From the 19th century to the early 20th century, the Empire of Askoria faced mass unrest due to unpopular measures enacted by the Royal Family. This discontent with the then Emperor culminated into the 1904-1911 Skoric Civil War. The Skoric Socialist Front would emerge victorious in 1911, establishing control over much of the former Empire of Askoria. The Royal Family was exiled from the Skoric Daugrech, except for the Emperor, who was executed. Empire sympathizers were violently persecuted by the populace and the government in the years after the Civil War. Skoric rule saw four major socialist projects undertaken; the employment of free, government-funded healthcare(Sozamzhalans Initsativ), a universal basic income(Sozamzekonomis Initsativ), The Industrial Policy(Shlenndustry Politik), and the Cultural Policy(Odlern Politik).
+
Tensions with the Lilaborn led Imperial-Bloc led to the First Cold War. The Imperial-Bloc would eventually be expanded into what is known as SOFA in 1955, prompting the Skoric State to create its own alliance, ATNAS in 1956. Although neither side engaged in direct military conflict, they instead fought on an ideological basis through various proxy wars throughout the globe. In the 1960’s, the Skoric State would compete to lead the First Space Race, launching the first space station into orbit, and the first probe onto another planet. It would also build the first permanent research station in 1979, the International Research Station. In 1981, the controversial backing of Mer-Freula in its brutal war against Merakistaq would lead to a long list of sanctions, alongside an internationally-backed blockade supported by SOFA referred to as ‘The Great Oceanic Wall’. These comprehensive economic sanctions would last up until the late 1990’s, when they were lifted thanks to warming relations between ATNAS and SOFA. The end of the blockade paved the way for an increasingly liberal economy, with the switch to a radically different economic model combining market-oriented characteristics of more capitalist societies, while maintaining the best elements of Skoric socialism. This change in economic model, while leading to an initially crippling recession due to the transition, led to unprecedented economic growth in the 21’st century. These economic, but also political reforms helped to reintegrate the Skoric State into the global economy and politics. Since the late 2010’s, the Skoric State has been militarily involved in a number of conflicts within what is considered the Third World, such as its war in Noshkovia in 2005, East Deysia since 2013, and more recently its ongoing invasion of Sigramearsk in 2023. It is generally agreed upon that that Skoric State began the Second Cold War with its large-scale invasion of Sigramearsk.

Under the leadership of Loymen Ghauss, who headed the Skoric Socialist Front, the Skoric Daugrech saw great improvement. The nation saw large strides in the improvement of the quality of life, food security, and industrial capacity of the nation. Under his rule, the Skoric Daugrech achieved unprecedented economic growth, recovering from the famine caused by the Civil War. In 1940, he would take action to launch a pre-emptive invasion of the Holy Republic of Lilaborn, formally beginning the Pan-Ariethnian Conflict (PAC). The estimated total of military and civilian casualties is said to be around 7 million. An uneasy stalemate between the Lilaborn-led bloc in 1947 would mark the official end of hostilities.
+
The Skoric State as of 2023 is classed as a developed country, with a high-income economy and a global leader in science and technology, electronics, and the automotive industry. It has low levels of corruption, environmental issues, and civil liberties, but ranks among the lowest in international measurements of freedom of the press and freedom of religion. It is also one of few countries in the world to implement universal healthcare, alongside tuition-free university education for the youth. The Skoric State also possesses the third-largest stockpiles of nuclear weapons, and the third-largest military expenditure, trailing behind the Deysian Federation and Holy Republic. Despite its weakened influence and economy after the blockade, it is still considered one of the three superpowers of the world. The Skoric State is a member of ATNAS and a founding member of CON, a permanent member of both Security Councils.
In the succeeding years after the Pan-Ariethnian Conflict, the Skoric Daugrech and its allies would confront the Holy Lilaborn Republic and the then-rising Deysian Federation through various indirect means. This ten-year period saw heightened tensions, a burst of proxy wars and increasing political instability, as well as the increased proliferation of nuclear and biological weapons. The Skoric aligned block, the Autonomous Nations(ATNAS), would be the main rival against the Lilaborn Republic and its allies. In 1964, it would support Mer-Freula through material aid to win the Mer-Freula-Merakistaq war. This would contribute to the 1970's Blockade of the Skoric Daugrech which would last till the 2000s, referred to by the populace as the 'Great Isolation'. The end of the blockade paved the way for a partial privatization of the economy. Renewed trade brought incredible economic growth to the nation, ushering in a new era of prosperity. In 2027, the Skoric Daugrech would officially be dissolved via a referendum, succeeded by the Federated Skoric Republics.

Over the course of its entire existence, the Skoric Daugrech played an instrumental role in the sciences, aiding in the development of technologies both military and commercial. As one of the founding members of the Congress of Nations, it possessed a permanent seat on the World Council. At its height, it had the world's second-largest economy, bearing the world's fourth-largest at the time of its dissolution. The Skoric Daugrech would comprise one out of the three reigning superpowers of the world, alongside the Holy Lilaborn Republic and the Deysian Federation. It would compete economically, technologically, militarily, and ideologically with its peers until its dissolution.

Revolutionary Foundation (1900-1911)
+
The history of the Skoric State began after the end of the Skoric Civil War, which ended with the economic collapse and political disintegration of the Imperial Skoric State. Established quickly in 1911 after the Skoric Civil War, the Skoric State would be a one-party state under the New Socialist Party. Its early years were marked by the implementation of radical socialist policies, which sought to stabilize the economy and bring order.

Reports on the actual beginnings of a Skoric socialist revolution are not quite exact, but it is believed to begun within the Askorian Empire in and around 1892, at which time general discontent with imperial rule was soaring. Although the country was on track to become a constitutional monarchy under a reformist bill, resistance to its actual resolution by the aristocratic Houses would continue to delay its passing. After reaching a boiling point, protests would erupt across the country, many which would be crushed to varying levels of effectiveness my the Royal Guard Corps and the Royal Askorian Army. Revolutionary activity would rapidly grow, with government and aristocratic control rapidly deteriorating with each year.
+
The first national election saw the rise of Loymann Ghauss, a pragmatic and initially unpopular leader who helped implement policies that would aid in the reconstruction of the country. His ‘New Industry Plan’ or NIP, helped to rebuild the ruined agriculture industry and rapidly industrialized the nation through heavy investment. The Skoric State had a central role in the Pan-Ariethnian Conflict, although to the cost of many millions of civilian and military lives.

In an attempt to hold onto power, the government would later employ the help of the personal army of the Houses as a means to prevent a possible civil war. However this would do little effect but rile the masses against the government, eventually leading to various popular uprisings across the country. It was around this time, in late 1900, that the informal formation of the Skoric Socialist Front would occur.
+
The Skoric State emerged as one of the three superpowers, leading the Socialist Bloc against the Imperial Bloc during the First Cold War. This period saw the Skoric State engage in an arms race, a space race, and numerous proxy wars around the globe. After the death of Loyman Ghauss in 1955, increasing efforts would be made to decentralize the economy to avoid stagnation, although efforts would cease after the SOFA blockade in 82’. The 80s and 90s saw a brief stagnation and economic decline, although it was due to weakening trade with Deysia and the 1981 and 1992 Oil Glut. The extractionary relationships of ATNAS also caused a strain in ties between the Socialist world and the Skoric State as it sought to maintain its status as the pillar of socialism. The vast burdens of managing ATNAS, military expenditures and sanctions would put a great strain upon the Skoric economy.

By 1901, the Royal government would find itself backstabbed by various aristocrats, namely the heads of the Houses. This pitted the Royal Askorian Army against not only various fringe popular uprisings but also a formidable and professional force that had often received expensive training abroad. The Skoric Socialist Front, under the leadership of Loymen Ghaus would go onto quickly receive the support of the people, while rapidly expanding the volunteer corp. Loymen Ghauss would consolidate his position as leader within the Socialist Front, citing 'temporary measures' however his tenure as supreme leader would continue until his untimely death.
+
In the 2000’s, Tervok Kalden’s policies of economic restructuring and rapprochement with the Imperial Bloc led to a warming in relations and the eventual lifting of the blockade. With a massively reduced military budget and a radically new socialist model, the 21st century saw a resurgence of the Skoric state in global affairs. Its invasion of Sigramearsk in 2023 would begin the Second Cold War, and the subsequent Second Space Race.

The ensuing Skoric civil war would see some 6 million soldiers of the Socialist Front fight against the various remnants of the Royal Askorian Army, as well as the professional armies of the various Houses. General interest by foreign powers would lead to a lack of support for the House forces, as it was seen as being more beneficial to give legitimacy to the Socialist Front, under the assumption that various one-sided deals could be made to the new and weak Socialist government. The bloody Skoric civil war would end in total victory for the Socialist Front on the 14'th of Noyumbr, 1911. A formal peace deal was signed, but the aristocratic Houses wouldn't be completely disbanded, albeit they would serve the central government under a different drawn out plan.

The Skoric State is a unitary one-party socialist republic governed by the New Socialist Party (NSP). The NSP is guided by socialism with capitalist characteristics, a type of socialism adapted to Skoric circumstances. Although its economic policies have grown increasingly capitalist. Under the constitution, the New Socialist Party (NSP) asserts their role in all branches of politics and society. The president is the elected head of state, supreme commander of the military and unofficially the general secretary of the NSP. Officially, they hold the second highest office in the nation and perform executive functions, state appointments, and setting policy.

The Skoric State Armed Forces(Skoric: Váldharina Skóriska Folksociále Staten) is considered one of the world’s most powerful militaries, engaged in a continuous modernization of its armed forces even despite restrictions of the 2010 Global Peace Accords. Since 2020, it consists of five services: the State Ground Forces(Statmark Váldstärk), State Air Forces(Statlúft Váldstärk), State Naval Forces(Statamarina Váldstärk), State Air-Defense Forces(Statlúftforsvar Váldstärk) and State Strategic Missile Forces(Statsastrategisk Rakettstärk). It also has two independent arms of service, the Domestic Security Forces, often referred to as the Fláktrupps, and Airborne Forces(Lúftburne Váldstärk). As of 2023, the military has around a million active-duty personnel, the sixth-largest, and about 30 million in reserves. As of 2005, it is mandatory for all male and female citizens aged 18-27 to be drafted for a year of service in the Armed Forces. The Skoric State is among four recognized nuclear weapons states, with the third largest stockpile of nuclear weapons; a little less than a third of all nuclear weapons are owned by Skoriska. It is a party to the Global Nuclear-Arms-Ban Treaty (GNABT) and the Nuclear-Test-Ban Accord (NTBA). In Absolute terms, Skoric military spending in 2024 was the third-highest in the world, spending approximately 152 billion skigmarks, or 1.9% of its GDP. In 2020 it was the world’s second-largest arms exporter, with an entirely indigenous defence industry, producing most of its military equipment.

Post-War Reconstruction and Social Reforms
+
Skoriska has major military industries and the second-largest aerospace sector in the world. The country has produced equipment such as the Aergast attack helicopter, the Orck tank, Staghorss supercarrier and many others. Skoriska is a major arms seller, with a large portion of its arsenal designs available for the export market. Skoric weapons exports totaled 55 billion skigmarks in 2022, up from 42 billion in the previous year. Additionally, Mer-Freula alone contributed more than 15 billion skigmarks to the Skoric total. Among the largest Skoric defence companies are Armasig, REUA, Skegharr-Hurk and Dayac.

The birth of the Skoric People's Socialist State would have a profound impact on the world, having emerged from the chaotic Skoric civil war. Following the formal peace agreement, the aristocratic Houses, while not disbanded entirely, assumed a redefined role within the central government, shaping a new political landscape. The post-war reconstruction efforts in the Skoric Daugrech meanwhile were large. With the destruction left by the Skoric civil war, the government committed to ambitious infrastructure projects, rebuilding war-torn cities and reconnecting the nation through highways and railways. Efforts were also made to restore the national spirit, through the building of monuments to the lives lost in the civil war.

Geography
 +

 +
Skoriska is the second-largest country in Ariethia. It borders Lilabor to the west, and Archalae, Wykonn, Palaen and Zoble to the south. Skoriska is also bordered by the East Ariethnian Sea and, at the north by the Skrandtik Sea. Skoric territory covers 2,214,078 km2 (854,860 sq mi). Elevation ranges from the mountains of the White Alps (highest point: Point Fror at 4,963 metres or 16282 feet) in the south to the shores sea of the Marino in the east and north-east. The forested uplands of central Skoriska and and lowlands of southern Skoriska (lowest points: In the Federal Autonomous State of Oskanact, Ryborsg at 3.3 meters below sea level) are traversed by such major rivers as the Svarflor, Storafor,  Lagvatn and Vindigstrom. Signficiant natural resources include Oil, natural gas, iron ore, timber, copper, nickel, salt, uranium and lithium.

As for social reforms, the Skoric Daugrech focused on improving the quality of life for its citizens. Comprehensive healthcare systems were established, so as to offer free medical services to all citizens at the government's expense. To address issues of public health and sanitation, mass vaccination campaigns and clean water initiatives were also launched, significantly reducing disease-related mortality. Infant mortality especially plummeted thanks to these initiatives.
+
Climate
 +
Most of Skoriska has a climate ranging from subarctic in the north to subtropical in the south. Northern Skoriska tends to have warm summers and very cold winters with heavy snow in the areas bordering the Sea of Marino, alongside in mountainous areas. The northern states tend to have prevailing easterly winds that bring in moist air from East Ariethnian Sea, moderating the temperature and increasing precipitation. Conversly the southern states tend to have more extreme temperatures.

Food security would continue to be a top priority, however, and as such the Skoric Daugrech introduced agricultural collectives to ensure a steady food supply. These collectives encouraged community participation in farming, helping to boost agricultural productivity. Increasing mechanization also boosted crop yields. Under Ghauss's leadership, a system of state-owned farms was implemented, providing essential food staples to the populace at affordable prices.
+
From Febrárik  2019 - 2020, average monthly temperatures in Skoriska ranged from a low of -22°C in Janúrik to a high of 21.2°C in Júnik 2019. Average monthly precipitation ranged from 20 mm in Febrárik and Aprélik 2019 to 790 mm in Febrárik 2020. Average monthly hours of sunshine ranged from 45 in Novémbik 209 to 500 in Júnik 2019.

In terms of industrial development, the Skoric Daugrech modernized its factories by introducing new machines and manufacturing processes. These all contributed to expanding the industrial capacity. Massive investments were made in heavy industry and infrastructure, transforming the country into a manufacturing powerhouse. This economic transformation fueled the Skoric Daugrech's rapid ascent to becoming one of the world's leading industrialized nations.

Economy
+

The Skoric People's Socialist State set about consolidating its political control. Opposition forces, including nationalists, monarchists, and democrats, faced systematic suppression. The government established a vast network of surveillance, ensuring that the Skoric Socialist Party maintained a means to survey for dissent. To maintain ideological purity, the education system also changed, with a strong focus on inculcating socialist values from a young age. The Skoric Daugrech attempted to drive home the fact that socialism was the optimal way to govern an econoy, in that socialist values.
+
Skoriska initially adopted a command economy, whereby the production and distribution of goods were centralized and directed by the government. In the late 1980’s, there were plans to take the next step onto a computer-managed socialist planned economy, using a decision support system called EKOST. Due to the lifting of the blockade, further work on EKOST would stop, with the program completely canceled.

Media censorship was stringent too, and journalists were required to adhere to strict guidelines. State-controlled media outlets disseminated propaganda to reinforce the party's narrative, while dissenting voices were systematically silenced. Cultural expression was generally allowed, however, artists and writers were generally 'encouraged' to create works that adhered to the state's ideology.

The Pan-Ariethnian War and Aftermath

The outbreak of the Pan-Ariethnian War in 1940 marked a turning point in the history of the Skoric Daugrech. Skoric spies had relayed information that the Holy Republic of Lilaborn was mobilizing for a potential invasion, alongside other states that bordered the Skoric Daugrech. Thus, The Skoric Daugrech attempted a pre-emptive invasion of the Holy Republic of Lilaborn. It was considered the 'first shot' of the Pan-Ariethnian Conflict (PAC). The war involved a massive amount of military material and included mass mobilization on a never-before-seen scale. Skoric industry was almost entirely honed for the production of war material, to ensure maximum combat effectiveness.

The war saw the Skoric Daugrech engage in and also suffer intense aerial bombings and chemical warfare. The death toll was staggering, with entire cities reduced to dust. In the wake of the conflict, the Skoric Daugrech was ultimately beaten back, but not defeated. Much like its rival, it faced the herculean task of post-war reconstruction, considering that large segments of its infrastructure lay in rubble.

The uneasy stalemate reached in 1947 resulted in the Skoric Daugrech consolidating its territories captured in the east and the south. The Skoric Daugrech, although battered, remained intact, and continued to exert its influence throughout its bloc of Socialist nations (ATNAS).

International Tensions and Proxy Wars
+
As of currently, Skoriska has a socialist-orientated market economy with a highly skilled labour force, a low level of corruption and a rather high level of innovation. It is the world’s third-largest exporter and fifth-largest importer, and has the second-largest economy in Ariethia, the ninth-largest by nominal GDP, and the fourth-largest by PPP. Its GDP per capita measured in purchasing power standards amounts to 156% of the Compakt average. The country’s service sector contributes approximately 41% to total GDP, industry 49%, with Skoriska having the largest manufacturing sector in Ariethia, and agriculture 10% as of 2023. The unemployment rate published by ArStat amounts to 1.9%, the second lowest in Ariethia.

In the years following the Pan-Ariethnian War, the Skoric Daugrech and its allies faced complex international tensions, primarily with the Holy Republic of Lilaborn and the rising Deysian Federation. The Skoric Daugrech's highly centralized military alliance, known as The Autonomous Nations(or ATNAS), served as a bulwark against regional and international adversaries. The alliance played an important role in safeguarding the Skoric Daugrech's interests and bolstering its position on the world stage.
+
Skoriska is apart of the Economic Compact, alternatively E-pakt, representing more than 350 million consumers. In 2015, the country accounted for 56% of the E-zone economy according to the World Monetary Fund. Skoriska introduced the common Epakt currency, the skigmark, in 2006. Monetary policy is headed by the State Central Bank, headquartered in Suric.

The Skoric Daugrech was active in supporting various proxy wars, providing military and logistical aid to socialist rebel groups in central Deysia and Noshkovia, often against the influence of the Holy Republic of Lilaborn, These proxy wars further destabilized the region and drew the Skoric Daugrech deeper into the global power struggle.
+
The Skoric manufacturing industry is regarded as one of the largest manufacturing economies and exporter of goods. Exports as percentage of GDP has stayed at just around 30%, reflecting their continued importance to the Skoric economy. Skoriska remains to be one of the largest trading nations in the world, playing a prominent role in international trade. Skoriska is the third largest exporter of heavy industrial goods. Skoriska is home to the DAYAC State Corporation, the world’s second-largest automotive manufacturer by vehicle production.

In 1966, the Skoric Daugrech shocked the world by becoming the first nation to employ Silvum gas, a novel chemical weapon, during the short but intense Second Ruvian-Skoric War. The use of this weapon drew international condemnation, leading to calls for disarmament and a renewed focus on chemical weapons regulations. It eventually led to a chemical-weapons ban, and the near-total destruction of chemical weapons stocks around the globe.
+
The top ten exports of Skoriska are oil and gas, vehicles, machinery, chemical goods, electronic products, electrical equipment, pharmaceuticals, transport equipment, basic metals, and food products.

The Deysian Federation and the H.R.L.'s blockade in the early 1970s posed a significant challenge to the Skoric Daugrech's economic and military growth. It forced the nation to explore alternative sources for rare-earth metals and critical chemicals essential for its industries. As a result, the Skoric Daugrech was forced into a period of isolation from the global market, a period referred to as the "Great Isolation."
+
Of the world’s 500 largest stock-market-listed companies measured by revenue in 2023, the Econ Global 500, 99 are headquartered in Skoriska. 30 major Skoric-based companies are included in the SKX, the Skoric stock market index which is operated by the Theamak Stock Exchange. Well-known international brands include DAYAC, Satall, AVMZ, REUA, Skegharr-Hurk and Skopek, to name a few.

With its central position within Ariethia, Skoríska is a transport hub for the continent. Its network of roads and high-speed rail is among the densest in Ariethia. The Skoric State National Railway Network or SNR train network serves all major Skoric cities, alongside destinations in neighbouring countries with speeds of up to 300 km/h. The largest airports are Skogvarg Airport, Theamak Airport, Kronfror Airport and Marya-Thesse Airport. The Port of Marya-Thesse is the second-busiest port in Ariethia and one of the twelve largest container ports in the world.

During this time, the Skoric Daugrech leveraged its influence over ATNAS, a group of socialist nations that provided vital trade partners and economic support. The Muwaic PSR became the Skoric Daugrech's primary trading partner, and the economic relationship between the two nations deepened significantly during this period. This led the Skoric Daugrech to get into unequal trade treaties.
+
In 2020, Skoríska was the world’s fifth-largest consumer of energy. Skopek, which is majority-owned by the Skoric government, is the country's main distributor and producer of electricity, and the second-largest electric utility company, ranking second in revenue globally. Skoriska meets its power demands mostly through nuclear, which provides 75% of the country's electricity, the remainder of which is provided through a mix of oil and gas, alongside hydro, solar, and wind. Skoríska is considered a world leader in nuclear technology, with reactors and nuclear fuel being major exports. Thanks to its commitment to reducing energy consumption, in line with the Tierzig Accord, it has reduced primary energy consumption by 12% between 1991 and 2020, with a goal of reducing it further by 30% by 2030 and 50% by 2050.

The Skoric Daugrech's economic resilience and adaptive policies helped it to overcome the challenges of the blockade. While import restrictions and trade embargoes persisted, the Skoric Daugrech continued to develop its industrial base, diversifying its economy and achieving notable self-sufficiency. It is one of few nations that could be said to have successfully committed autarky, however, this is disputed.
+
Due to the reliance on nuclear power, the development of other renewable energy sources has been rather slow compared to other nations. Despite this, production capacity from renewable energies has increased, with hydropower being the leading source, accounting for 60% of the country’s renewable energy sources and contributing 10% of its electricity. Despite meeting almost all of its domestic energy demand through nuclear, Skoriska still maintains its position as the third largest producer of crude oil, something which is credited with helping sustain the massive Skoric welfare state.

Agriculture
politics moment
+
The Skoric agricultural sector is highly mechanized and has a strong focus on international exports. It employs about 1.3% of the Skoric labor force but produces large surpluses in the food-processing industry and accounts for 1.6% of the total Skoric GDP value. The Skoriska ranks first in the Compakt and second worldwide in the value of agricultural exports, behind only Lilabor, with agricultural exports earning 110 billion in 2019, up from 102 billion in 2016.
Military
The Skoric Peoples Socialist State maintained a professional army, ranking second in the GSI index in 2005 for defense capability. Spending a total of 7% of its GDP on defense(2015) the Skoric Military ranked second in military spending. The Skoric armed forces, formed shortly after the official proclamation of the Skoric Socialist State, maintains six main branches; Ground Forces, Air Forces, Naval Forces, Strategic Missile Forces, Air-defense forces, and Domestic Security Forces. The various branches of the armed forces, along with military policy, are headed by Skoric High Command. Much of the military bureaucracy occurs in a large military installation called 'Hesher' or Facility B2, which is located at a remote location in the Suraggard SAS.

The Skoric military has largely been a ground and air-focused force, its military largely prepared to repel any potential incursion from its eastern and southern flanks. The Skoric State Air Force aids in the extensive support of the ground forces via the operation of large radar installations, unmanned drones and other surveillance aircraft. The Skoric navy played a large role in the geopolitical importance of the Skoric Daugrech however its effect had largely diminished through gradual cuts in budget and the size of the fleet. The Skoric army has long adhered to the military tradition practiced within the Askorian Empire. Its military past, going back nearly two hundred years, permeates much of Skoric society, thinking and culture. In 2010, there existed some 3 million soldiers, 1.6 million of which served in the Skoric Army. These 1.6 million were divided into 160 divisions, 135 of which served as motorized infantry, with 25 serving as armored divisions. Some 400,000 meanwhile would serve in the Skoric Naval forces. The Skoric Air Force, which mainly existed as a means of air defense and air superiority fielded a large fleet of air superiority fighters. Alongside this, it would also maintain a sizable fleet of nuclear-capable strategic bombers. The Skoric Missile Forces operated more than 1300 ICBMs, deployed across some estimated 20 bases, and 178 command centers.
+
Two-thirds of the world's exports for various fruits and vegetables go through the country. Skoriska exports two-fifths of the world's wheat, and one-third of the world's rice. A significant portion of Dutch agricultural exports consists of grain, which occupies a little less than half of the cropland. As climate change continues to progress, large opportunities are foreseen for Skoric agriculture during the rest of the 21st century as variability continues in the traditionally frigid northern states, which could lead to increased migration to those regions.
In the late stages of the Skoric Daugrech's existence, it would aid the Muwgawana PSR in crushing a revolt in its northeast province. This would mark the last overseas' deployment of the Skoric Expeditionary Force.

For much of the Skoric Daugrech's existence, conscription was in effect up until the 2000s, by which a pivot in policy led to the transformation of the Skoric army to a volunteer force.
+
Owing to its large coastline alongside the Eastern Ariethnian Sea, Skoriska maintains one of the world's largest fishing fleet, ranking fourth in the world in tonnage of fish caught; capturing 5.9 million tonnes of fish in 2019. It produces about half of all canned fish, and some one-fifth of the world's total fresh and frozen fish.

Tourism
 +
Domestic and international travel and tourism contribute over 350 billion Skigmarks to Skoríska’s GDP annually. The industry supports approximately 3.5 million jobs, encompassing direct, indirect, and induced employment. As of 2024, Skoríska is among the most-visited countries in Ariethia, attracting visitors with destinations such as Suric, Theamak, and the Great Thesslen Range across central Skoriska. Notable landmarks include the Old Ruins of Helnnogard, the White Alps with Point Fror, and nature reserves within the interior. Natural and cultural sites, such as the Central National Park and the Suric Catalog, also play a significant role in the tourism sector, making the country a rather popular destination.

The responsibility for educational supervision in Skoriska is primarily organized within each FAS. Optional kindergarten is provided for all children between three and six years old, after which school attendance is compulsory for nine years regardless of state. Primary education usually lasts for four to six years. Secondary schooling is divided into various tracks based on whether students choose to pursue an academic or vocational education. A system of mandatory apprenticeship called SU or Co-op ensures that all students gain necessary work experience by the time they graduate from a post-secondary institution. This model is well regarded and reproduced widely around the world.

As all Skoric universities and colleges are public institutions, students pay no tuition fees. The general requirement for attending a university is getting an SRE qualification by completing the quadri-annual State Level Exams. According to the WEB report in 2019, Skoriska is the world’s second leading destination for international study. The established universities in Skoriska include some of the oldest in the world, with Theamak University (established in 1453), Skogvarg University (established 1712) and Helnnogard University (established 1412) being the oldest. Theamak University’s academic model became widespread throughout Ariethnian universities due to its success.

History

The history of the Skoric State began after the end of the Skoric Civil War, which ended with the economic collapse and political disintegration of the Imperial Skoric State. Established quickly in 1911 after the Skoric Civil War, the Skoric State would be a one-party state under the New Socialist Party. Its early years were marked by the implementation of radical socialist policies, which sought to stabilize the economy and bring order.

The Armasig Military Munitions Complex is the largest and most advanced munitions plant in Ariethia, producing approximately 50,000 artillery shells per month.

Economy

Theamak, a leading business center in Ariethia.

The top ten exports of Skoriska are oil and gas, vehicles, machinery, chemical goods, electronic products, electrical equipment, pharmaceuticals, transport equipment, basic metals, and food products.

Agriculture

The Skoric agricultural sector is highly mechanized and has a strong focus on international exports. It employs about 1.3% of the Skoric labor force but produces large surpluses in the food-processing industry and accounts for 1.6% of the total Skoric GDP value. The Skoriska ranks first in the Compakt and second worldwide in the value of agricultural exports, behind only Lilabor, with agricultural exports earning 110 billion in 2019, up from 102 billion in 2016.

Tourism

Education
