I've had these for some time, and thought they may be useful to do the Pakistan Navy version:

Some quite recent side-views of the Pakistani 21s have just been posted at shipspotting.com:

SHAH JEHAN (ex-ACTIVE): http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/pho ... id=1263592

TIPPU SULTAN (ex-AVENGER): http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/pho ... id=1263591
looks odd! I think she is out of service by the looks of her

BADR (ex-ALACRITY): http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/pho ... id=1263590

BABUR (ex-AMAZON): http://www.shipspotting.com/gallery/pho ... id=1263589

Am I right in thinking that, besides the Phalanx CIWS, these ships have no anti-air capability left?

Thank you, rd77 for a bunch of very helpful photos! Yes, it appears that the Tippoo is out of commission, but she was one of those which was rearmed with Chinese weapons. Maybe the re-orientation of Pakistani foreign policy has something to do with that? And yes, also to your second question. It's only the Phalanx system that serves as an AAW-system.

It would appear that the TIPPU SULTAN is undergoing a refit, rather than being permanently decommissioned. The same poster who put up that picture of her with the yellow upperworks later confirmed that he had seen her in drydock in Januari 2011. The yellow paint is most likely a primer then. Will be interesting to see her weapons fit when she returns.

What do you mean by the re-orientation? If anything, the Pakistani navy seems to be totally shifting to Chinese hardware. In the past two years, they commissioned 3 Chinese built F22P frigates and currently a couple of OPV's are being built in China for Pakistan.

PB: That'll have to wait just a tad, since I'm currently working on the ACR Black Prince. But it'll be coming! 8-)
rd77: I may be wrong (being no expert on the Pakistani Navy), but has there not been a shift in foreign policy and weapons' procurement preference towards the US? If I'm wrong, then please forgive my ignorance! :) ;)
