This is a WIP for HMS Dreadnought as she appeared in 1906. I plan to draw the ship in her later configurations as well, at least 1909, 1914, 1916, and 1918.
Any comments or constructive criticisms are welcome!

Welcome to shipbucket,

I think that dreadnought has been done already its normally polite to ask the previous artiste if you can update a ship. http://www.shipbucket.com/images.php?di ... 201906.png

But don't be put off, and good luck
JSB

Sorry, I didn't realize that. I didn't mean to step on any toes! I will PM jabba before proceeding further.

You could do one from the Bellerophon or St Vincent class, neither of which has been drawn for Shipbucket yet.

Would it be okay for me to draw Dreadnought at later years, since jabba's Dreadnought is during 1906?

I have received permission from jabba to continue working on the drawing, and the WIP has been updated above. All armament has been placed.

you find HMS Dreadnought turrets in this part sheets. I have spend long time in redrawing some of them, and "Hood" have used days of making sure all turrets are correct.

be aware that HMS Dreadnought flank turret are different to the center turret.

Hi heuhen,
I had some questions about the Dreadnought turrets on the parts sheets, which are as follows:
1) On the parts sheets, the back plates seems to be canted inwards. However, all sources I have found on Dreadnought (as well as the King Edward VII class, where these turrets originated) show that the back of the turrets on Dreadnought are vertical and flat, with the side plate running flat from the middle of the turret to the back of the turret. The mounting on the parts sheet looks more like the turrets on the Invincible class BC, which (while mounting the same Mk X rifles) does have a turret which comes to a point at the back.

2) The barbettes on Dreadnought are of a larger diameter than the outside of the turret, and as a result the armored cylinder juts out from under the turret, as seen here:
https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... n17494.jpg
This is not reflected in the turrets on the parts sheet.

Excellent start! By all mean also use the era-typical boat complement sheet that I've created, which you can find here: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2359 - Note, though, that the colors used are generic (in the steam launch's case it's that of HMS Renown!) so, if you know the particular colors used by the Captain of the Dreadnought at any particular period you should use that!
