No, I have to say I don't like it. The first version was just fine.

Can you post an image that shows the way the hull slopes, so we can make a better decision?

Shading is agreeable as long as there is not such a high degree of contrast. If you would lighten the shading, it would look good and be more agreeable with high ranking members.

Again, need to see a good photo of the West Virginia's hull before I can make an informed decision. But my knee jerk reaction is "no".

There shouldn't be ANY contrast on the side plating, as it was a continuous faired sheet below the 5/38 mounts.

Another case of adding detail that might be appropriate if that detail were actually present on the real ship.
