comms for what? it is more or less an freighter or an floating load/unload station, and I already think the amount of satcoms is.... well..... high. the antenna's and satcoms I have on are the ones shown on my reference, but as my refs weren't that good....
I guess I'll just have to wait till the real ship is finished.
Coordinating said unloading. Getting a normal RO-PAX ferry loaded is a major piece of logistical choreography and they have the advantage of purpose build shore facilities.
The MLP on the other hand will be doing it mid-ocean and instead of family cars and trucks it's got to deal with multi ton AFVs, helicopters, artillery and all their support equipment. Just making sure that a Howitzer's ammunition goes to the same place as the howitzer is going to be a challenge. And the key to that challenge is communication and that means bandwidth and lots of it.
Plus, a SatComm won't do much good if you're trying to talk to the landing craft that's alongside.
