Olympus Mons class battleships
The Olympus Mons class was the Martian navies premiere as well as last battleship class, completed before the end of the second interplanetary war in 2168. In fact for the time, the Olympus Mons class was the most powerful class battleship that humanity had ever created, with no ship that the UN combined fleet had at it’s disposal, being able to fight an Olympus Mons class battleship on an even footing.
Despite the absolutely crushing and brutal defeat that the Martians experienced during the second interplanetary War, Ascraeus Mons, would be the only member of the Olympus Mons class to survive the brutal conflict, being interred at the large Luna shipyard along with several other examples of Martian warships. And eventually, she would find a new lease on life, being incorporated into the German branch of the UNCF, and being renamed from her original name of Ascraeus Mons to Otto von Bismarck.
And despite being quickly outdated compared to other contemporary battleships, the newly christened Otto von Bismarck would serve throughout the rest of the 2100s, and with the start of the Earth, Gamila in 2197, Otto von Bismarck along with the rest of the UNCF Fleet would participate in many battles, to try and slow down the rapid Gamila, eventually culminating in the second Battle of Mars. In which a direct invasion Force destined for Earth would be intercepted and destroyed, but at a significant loss to the UNCF fleet. Otto von Bismarck would go on to participate in operation M, captained by Theodore H curiosity, a native Martian and veteran of the second interplanetary War, and despite her outdated nature, von Bismarck Otto von Bismarck and her crew would go onto battle to the very last man, eventually being destroyed during the battle, and bringing an end to Mars's longest-lived battleship class.
