Thanks. I'm not 100% happy about them. I don't have a plan to work from and there are a few characteristics that haven't been represented, like the curved surface between the upper and lower passenger decks. If I come across some plans, I might give them an overhaul.

The trip to Ryde only takes 20 mins by fast cat. Its supposed to be the most expensive stretch of water in the world.

Another interesting factoid about these ships is that they were both nameed after Lord Mountbatten's daughters.

1975 saw the introduction of the Super Viking class to the Portsmouth/Southampton to Le Havre. The ships were MS VIKING VENTURER, MS VIKING VALIANT (below), MS VIKING VOYAGER, MS VIKING VISCOUNT.

Thanks a lot, ALVAMA :)

I think the designer must have been a serious drug taker! All of these extra decks only added another 105 cars (380 total) and 116 passengers (1,316 total).

Behold! the beast...

In all fairness 105 cars isn't insignificant - in fact it added the number of cars carried total by about a quarter.

Having recently got married, moved to the other side of the world and looking for a job and a house, my drawing time has been severely cut down. "Shipbucket" is already a dirty word in my wife's vocabulary! :P However, a recent trip to my home town of Portsmouth has spurred me on to finish some of my drawings:

MV Mont St Michel passing the Round Tower in Old Portsmouth

MV St Helen approaching Fishbourne

The wonderful SS Waverley, Hovercraft and Spitbank Fort...

Here is MV Mont St Michel:
Operating the Portsmouth to Caen (Ouistreham) Route.
Built for 80m GBP in 2002.
35,500 tons carrying 2,123 passengers and 830 vehicles
