I am considering just using the Sa'ar 4 class missile boats - will these be serviceable into 2013?

I see they were around for the Yom Kippur war so seems an awful long time for something like a missile boat to stay in service.

Also, just so I stick to the theme of Shipbucket (posting drawings...), here's the Valiant class (Fletcher):

Entirely uninteresting, merely a re-flag of my previous drawings, but I guess it's a start. North Point decommissioned its last Valiant class destroyer in 1980, after FRAM programs etc. Valiant and Standard are preserved as museums (of course). I plan on drawing a 1943 edition with camouflage but it's 2am and I have work in the morning. ;)

It's not inconceivable, the Israeli navy still operates two though they're both getting quite long in the tooth. If you go for them I'd include a little blurp about work on their replacements, if any, is under way.

Well they are all decommissioned by 1980. ;)

Whenever I get around to drawing the Gearing, NP will get its own version of that. After the Gearing come Charles F. Adams DDGs, then the MEKO 360 frigates, then the F100, and then finally the Arleigh Burkes.

Ah, OK - realized that myself just now. :)

Alright - well I plan to work on those this afternoon if I can find time.

Also, does anyone have any suggestions around what type of MEKO class to use? I like the ANZAC design but the Argentinean MEKO 360 was suggested as I can bring it into service in the 1980s.

The 360 would certainly fit the bill if it has to enter service in the early 80ies. The 200 becomes available in 87 if memory serves.

Well - I have Charles F. Adams destroyers providing the bulk of the surface force from about 1960-1980. I guess it could wait until 1987 for replacement - I just like the MEKO 200 so much more for some reason.

10 CFAs I believe. I have updated the Sea Command's OOB. Each ship has been given a new classname to reflect that in SMSWorld these would have been built in North Point. Charles F. Adams becomes the "Chevalier class".
