Hi, Odysseus, thanks for your input.
No, only the Lynx and Sagaie variants. Unfortuantelly I was unable to find a good picture of the very interesting Serval 60/20 version. Maybe, I will do the Saviem VBC with the TS-90 turret. Cheers.

Among all these above I see the EMC-81 variant for first time. Did that turret was to have a breech loaded mortar?

P.S I had seen the Serval 60-20 turret in AML variants way back.

Yes, the Hotchkiss Brandt HB-81, that could be breech-loading or muzzle-loading, both ways.

The turret is a 360° one, and the mortar have a range of 7000 metres. It could also fire a direct-fire antitank round, obviously a shaped-charge one, with a range of 800 metres.

An interesting weapon, perhaps too 'small' for a useful use on battleground.

It would be as useful as any 81mm mortar in battleground.

yes...and no.
is an expensive and complex mounted weapon, and in the direct fire role not enough powerful. In fact, the west never put in use a similar weapon, and the russian goes directly on 120mm weapons.

interestly, indeed.

Ok, but in that era (early 1980's) that weapon was marketed. Perhaps the complex nature of EMX-81 was the reason none bit.

The EMC-81 turret was also marketed on AMX-10P.

Please check your pm file.

Thanks, Mike! a lot of future drawings (damm, I will have work)!
Hi, Odysseus. Yes, I only had seen the Serval turret over the AML 4x4 vehicle. I think that a 81 is useful, but a turreted one is somewhat expensive. As a FSV I would prefer something heavier, and in the plain mortar role, something cheaper... of course, giving my point of view of armchair general with an advantage of 35 years!
Thanks Eswube & guys for your input!
