Bit of a change from WW2 ships as I work on the next one, here is the Munglinup class FFG:

Wow, that is a stunning frigate. Makes sense to me from a design standpoint, and the execution is brilliant. I have sort of mixed feelings about the panelling on the radar deckhouse, it's sort of contrary to the Shipbucket standard but it's very attractive.

Can you explain the plant more? It looks like there are probably two LM2500-class gas turbines aft, and maybe a diesel or two forward?

The only changes I might make:
  • Relocate the SRBOC mortars to the deck above the boat bay. This way they could share a ready-use magazine.
  • Delete the forward Nulka, which currently has to be near/on the centerline.
  • Add a towed array

A Very attractive modern ship!
(Most might know already that if I say so about modern designs it really means more!)

Thanks everyone! I've updated the above drawing with Erik_t's suggestions.

Yeah along those lines, although honestly I haven't given it enough thought to be able to explain it. If that works then that is what I'll go with.

Great looking ship, both from a drawing and design standpoint!
If the RAN looks to replace the ANZAC class, they don't have to look any further ;)

I'm still curious about your radar fit. Two air-search radars are mentioned. Is the small elliptic antenna up top the short-range 3D search, as a backup for the PAR?
If so, is it only that, a short-range low-power second-tier search radar for when the PAR doesn't have to be fired up or there is civilian traffic up close? Or is it this longer-ranged one and the PAR handles short-range target designation? Guess it depends on your phased array's capabilities (power, definition) and how often you want to use it.

Yes the small elliptical antenna is Sirius-B which in this instance is acting as a short-range backup to the larger PAR (which is roughly comparable to SPY-1F), so it would be the first of the two scenarios you present.
