Had ago at the Crest following the guidance of the Tutorial by KimWerner.... i also noticed on the reference picture that the guides for the stern anchors were slightly lower than i had placed them.

Good job, especially I commend the effort on the ship's crest (badge).
As for the bow doors, I feel a little as indeed outlining in black is the correct way, so my apologies.

Looks good but two "basic" stylistic points comes to my mind:

1. Never ever outline vertical black lines with dark grey one, only use it to descripe shaddow underneath horizontal lines (and in those cases two pixel thick line of the darker hull shade works better). You have one odd such line going down from the Bridge and it immediately sort of "breaks" the drawing... what is it supposed to present?
2. If you shade the underwater hull with only two tones, use it in same manner as in the underwater hull shade (eq. the one notch darker). In here you seem to use the darkest of the orange shades under the normal brigth red.

Also, as a more general tip, always try to avoid using single black pixels when you can (within reason) replace it with proper 3 pixel (a filler color between the black lines) thick structures and forms. It usually goes to the overexaggeration side of the style, but its basicly the key to good SB looks.

It's worth pointing out that the bow doors on LSTs in general weren't particularly waterproof. That's usually done with an internal door that in many cases doubles as a vehicle ramp.

Great stuff Shippy very impressive work and a top quality badge too. One minor nitpick, you have shown an ASW Wessex where I would have thought it would have been a load hauler Wessex 5 ?

I realized the mistake with helicopter after posting, not only is it the wrong type of Wessex but the ship is drawn to it's final appeance in the mid to late 1990's so really should be a seaking
