Why Su-33? I understand its a very capable fighter but you would either have to give it a multi-role russian radar which would probably npt be good for your logistics of modify it for western systems
I feel that Super Hornet is simply the easiest approach as long as you have a close enough relationship to the United States

Well, if you buy the Tomcats before 1990, then I could certainly see an upgrade program that keeps them around until 2015-2020 (they would get a major overhaul by 1995-2000 and again around 2006-2012).
But that does require an early purchase, and very close relations with the US.

If you go with the SU-33 and have a ski-ramp you won`t be getting any fully fueled, fully armed SU-33s into the air. The catapult is the only way to get a fully fueled, fully armed plane off the deck and into the air.
