And the Moskva was 15,000 tons standard load (and, IIRC, a good number of those helicopters were topdeck-only). Your ship is nowhere near that size. Hyuga, which is larger still, supports typically only 11.

I'd make a rough guess that your ship needs to be about 10,000 tons. And more hangar space (which is the main reason why it will take up more tonnage).

Read this article for perhaps a better idea: http://forum.keypublishing.com/showthread.php?t=41259

I've said this many times before, and I guess I need to say it again: DO NOT USE MY NOVGOROD/KOMITERN AU ships as soviet AU stuff. They are not such.

It's not from an AU. It was originally the Kynda class cruiser, heavily modified. It's from the real Russian ships section of the site. Is it still a problem? If needs be I'll modify the ship.

(on a side note, I didn't know you had that AU. That's cool)

ETA: I'll also mod the design a bit, give it a larger hanger section and such.

In that case I stand corrected.

Well, now that's sorted :D (sorry golly) here is a modified version. I've bulked up the stack, made it taller and wider, and heightened the deck, increasing the underwater hull as well.

why not add some sponsons, so you get an wider deck, instead of an very wide hull?
also, this ship seems a bit nose heavy....
and I would suggest putting some sloops on board.

With how long the flight deck already is would it not make sense to raise the foredeck to the same level, it looks decidedly odd as of now.

It is nose heavy, but then I cant really change that without changing the design massively. I like the front being dipped down compared to the flight deck. Don't ask me why, it simply appeals to me.
In terms of adding sponsons, what would you suggest? CIWS systems? Guns? ASW rockets?
I added some boats aft as well:

I mean the flight deck on sponsons. again, look at moskva. and I am with blackbuck, with an raised bow it would look much better.
