Time for something a little different.
The Sleipner class LCU was is based on the US Army's Runnymede class (LCU-2000)
It has been lengthened 12.5 ft in order to make it more sea worthy, accommodate larger engines and to reflect the higher standard of living on Danish vessels.
Since these are navy vessels they are fitted to better defend themselves. This includes Stinger Manpads, two 20mm guns, basic ECM (Not shown yet) and possibly some sort of countermeasure ala SeaGnat.
The class consists of eight vessels of which three are homeported in the Caribbean, two are stationed in Africa and the rest in Denmark. During the summer two units are deployed to Greenland. Their mission is primarily to transport army troops and naval ground personnel around.
During peacetime they're also tasked with helping civilian logistics, disaster relief and environmental protection. The latter is accomplished by using a container based system that deploys over the side.
