Airbus A330:

As part of its expansion strategy Nanpo also ordered 14 Airbus A330-300 (with options for six more) to replace the 767s on domestic and international routes, further increasing capacity on routes served by narrowbodies. The first airframes entered service in 2011 and all were delivered by 2014, allowing for a new international route to be opened between Kumoi and Osaka. With the arrival of the A350 and A380s in 2017 , the 330s were moved esclusively on domestic service, flying routes between Taniguchi, Kumoi, Chiyoko, Minatogawa, hoshiguma and Toumachi. All are fitted with a two-class configuration offering 7 premum-economy and 384 economy seats, for a total of 391 passegners. the airline plans to turn ints options into firm orders in the near future, and eventually order more airframes if needed.

Airbus A380:

In early 2015, Nanpo no Kido ordered two Airbus Superjumbos as the airline long-haul flagships. The first A380 was delivered in august 2017 and currently serves one of the two daily flights conencting Toumachi, Kumoi and Tokyo Haneda until the second airframe, which is due for delivery in early 2018, will join the fleet. Once both will be in the fleet, the pair will be moved to serve Los Angeles-bound routes, with possible extension of service up to New York. The A380 is the only Nanpo no Kido's plane to offer first class service and is fitted with a 487 seat configuration (11 first, 72 business, 16 premium economy and 388 economy).

Air Hoshiguma

Air Hoshiguma is a low-cost airline based in its namesake city. The airline was formed in 2008 by former employees of Koko airways, which went bankrupt the previous year. Air Hoshiguma began operations on March 8th 2008 flying three former Koko Airways MD-81 between Toumachi and Hoshiguma. The airline added two used MD-87s bought from air tenji in 2009, opening a new route to Kumoi, and a 737-900ER was leased in 2010-2015 to increase capacity on the Toumachi-Hoshiguma trunk.
A more thorough fleet expansion started in 2012 when the airline recieved the first of the fifteen 737-900ER ordered a few years earlier to open new routes and replace the ageing MDs in the fleet. Soon, direct connections to the cities of Taniguchi, Chiyoko, Minatogawa, Hokuto and Minazuki were added to the carrier's destinations. Despite beign the slowest-growing and the smallest of the four Kokoan-based low-cost airlines Air Hoshiguma enjoyed positive cash-flows for all but its first year of operation and has gained a reputation of reliability and on-time performance. The airline also Became the launch customer of the entire EAC-150 program when it ordered five (plus five opions) of the -200 model in 2012.

Currently, Air hoshiguma operates a fleet of 14 aircrafts and serves 7 domestic destinations.

Operated aircrafts:
MD-81 (2008-2014)
MD-87 (2009-on, 1 in service)
B-737-900ER (2010-on, 13 in service)

McDonnell-Douglas MD-80:

Air Hoshiguma took over five MD-81 from bankrupt Koko Airways and started operations in early 2008 using three of them (the other two were stored and used for spare parts). The type operated on the hoshiguma-toumachi route until beign phased out in 2014, replaced by the 737-900ER.

In addition to the used MD-81s, the airline also bought two second-hand MD-87 from Air Tenji in 2009 and used them to fly the Hoshiguma-Kumoi route. Air hoshiguma MD-87 are significant in a certain sense as they are the last MDD-built planes to operate in Kokoan airspace. The type is currently in the process of beign phased out, one has been retired in early 2017, while the lone surviving airframe scheduled to leave the fleet in early 2018, replaced in service by the Boeing 737-900ER, although capacity-wise, the actualy replacement for the MD-87 will be the EAC-150-200.

Boeing 737:

Air Hoshiguma leased one 737-900ER in 2010 to expand capacity between Hoshiguma and Toumachi. The same year the airline also ordered fifteen airframes, to be delivered new from Boeing. Currently thirteen have been delivered (the leased frame was returned in 2015) with the last two due in 2018. The type replaced -and is in the process of replacing- the MD-81 and MD-87 in service. The airline 737s serve on all routes, fitted with 186 seats in an all-economy configuration.
