Will you mind if I give it a try? (This is a question as much directed toward David Latuch, the author of the drawing, as it is Golly)
I sense we may need a visual que to better (perhaps) reach an understanding, maybe even an agreement!

yea, and to me it just looks really wrong :(
In sake of trying, you could try how it would look if you make the part of the railing that faces the sky more ligther than the one facing the structures?

its better looking now, but i still would stand my opinion. Thougth, it wouldn't harm anyone to test with different hues of the color as well... somehow that current one is ligther shade, but its somewhat too "brigth" if you understand what Im after. You are using paint for this?
