couldn't we do something based on no of drawings uploaded? or even better, tonnage of drawings (complicated, but this corrects the '10 small ships count for more then one large')
So ALVAMA would be top as he draws the biggest ships?

Also I think that the Admin's should the first lords of the admiralty and the mods the admiralty.

Golly is the CO, Colo is the XO, I'm the ChEng. :P

This makes MConrads the absent Admiral, and might make the other mods the other department heads.

I used naval ranks because this is shipbucket. :)

Lazer: I used USN ranks because they're readily available on Wikipedia. Thanks go to them for help with the ranks.

eswube: If anyone's interested, I'll do a charts for the aircraft artists as well.

Thank you emperor for bringing a unique idea, but we all must remember that this is Shipbuket, with the main purpose of creating a compartive chart of the world ships, past and present, as well as never built. All other types like FD scale and especially the AU are a side effect (although I love the FD scale very much), so basing rank on how many posts simply defeats the main idea behind Shipbucket (as mentioned above APDAF will out rank BB1987, and BB1987 contributed more IMHO to Shipbucket, by the quality of his drawings and subject of his drawings), so in all fairness it is my belief that, the idea is, although original, shouldn't be proceeded with.

I think the current system is sufficient. The admins and moderators are well aware of how much each member contributes, and how that contribution is made. Some members excel in their technical knowledge and advice they dispense, others real and never-built designs, others still in imaginative and plausible AU vessels; the list goes on.

I think if these ranks should ever come live they should replace the current color ranks.
The admins and mods should be at the top and other members recive ranks by the admins on the amount of work contributed (real, AU or FD).
There are members who do alot of work in a small amount of time and by current ranks considered elite and members who contribute as much but not as fast who are regular members. this way everyone will be recognized one way or another.
