Well that's if the actual shaft is "cased" in, the shaft here I believe is exposed hence the grey as it would be made out of a high grade metal not easily corroded

I used Matt's pic of the Hayanami for this one. The only differences I could find are tripple AA mounts by the funnel, a twin infront of the superstructure, and what looks like a type 22 radar on the mainmast.

I'd switch the ships name and the credits around. Other than that everything seems to be in order. A nice drawing of a good-looking ship

To be fair, the name shouldn't even be on the hull by 1943...by this time, the names and division numbers were painted over after initial commissioning. (I say this because there is evidence of wartime ships being commissioned with their names painted on their hulls; examples being Kazagumo and Akizuki.)
