Really like what's been done, Japanese Carriers always looked interesting!

I've always had a soft spot for their 'covered wagons,' myself.

Results of a quiet day of working... about 60% at this point. Again, the colors don't really have anything to do with anything; at least most of the ship is roughed-in at the moment.

I do have more of the hull roughed in, but don't want anyone laughing at all the pastels I use to spot stray pixels.

Looking good so far...can't wait to see the finished product! If you need references on the other IJN CVEs, I'll send you some pics.

Best,

-Matt

They certainly couldn't be any worse than the obnoxious lime green I use.

Do not worry about odd spots of color on your hull.
As I understand it, hulls were routinely spot painted to
cover up bare/rusty areas, and the new paint was always
lighter or darker than the old paint. Unless the SB rules
require "like new" paint schemes, your ship could be
weathered from serving at sea.

Like new is a requirement. Showing rust is a banning offence.

Signal,
Artifact is a bad, bad no-no. Even if it wasn't, I would be too damn conceited to allow any mistakes that I can prevent by simply flipping on an obnoxious paint job for a minute and giving it a once over. Sometimes, having bad source material cannot be avoided- especially on ships that didn't have a long pre-war or post-war existence- but stray pixels are too easy to fix.

There are few things I want to be perfect- my hand-loading is one of them, these ships are another.

OK... moving along... as it's my weekend off, I'm back at work.
I've got pretty much everything done but the 'ticklish part' where all the walkways and the fore boat deck are located. I'm planning on finishing this weekend, barring too bad a hangover tomorrow. And since everyone is so supportive about the use of obnoxious colors for finding pixels, here's the whole darn thing- ugly colors and all!
