Shipbucket

The Belknap in the archive is pretty old and slightly out of scale (due to me using a Conway's drawing instead of Friedmans). I wouldn't want you to base anything off it.

ok, did I do the template correctly? I probably need to shipbucketize the ships crest huh?

Also, Ace thank you for the MK-141. I think the correct angle is probably the 30 degree, but it looks so pixilated. I realize this cant be avoided with this format.

The crest is optional, but if included, yes, it should be shipbucketized. I'd also like to state that I agree with Erik that fro photographs, it looks like the Mk 141s face directly aft, and not angled out.

Nice looking ship. Position on template is ok, crest as TJ said, you only need change fonts for correct ones and make border lines white.

There is no need to credit me - as far as I can tell no major parts of mine have been used. I could be wrong though... it was almost 5 years ago when the Belknaps were drawn.

ok, I think this is final. I Thank all of you for your input. All have been extremely helpful

quite nice. a few comments:
- by 1993, wouldn't the leahy's use rubber domes?
- are you certain of this ships bilge keel shape?
- was the UNREP gear at the bridge structure removed by this date? if it was, I have said nothing
- are you going to draw earlier representations of this ship/class? at least an as build would be nice IMO, and a lot of this drawing would stay the sam, I suppose.

Awwee crap, forgot about the forward unrep stuff. I put it on my just for fun drawing and for got to put it on this one. I'll fix that, or more likely research it a little because I recall seeing a bunch on pictures where that had some kind of unrep-rigging just forward of the fantail launcher. I was actually going to investigate that earlier and forgot all about it. Below waterline is still a complete mystery to me. Can find a lot of pictures, although I did find one from dry-dock and now I can remember where that heck it is...argh! I have joined the Leahy group on Facebook to see if I can find some untapped pictures there. I also posted my drawing there and am waiting for some feedback. I figured what better place to get to get info that from the men who served aboard her.

As for earlier versions, I will work on those for sure. My love life has made a turn for the better and I have met a wonderful lady so I'm not spending as much time on this as I should. If you would like to do an earlier layout, I would be honored if you based them off my drawing

Very nice, a wonderful drawing! however I believe the harpoons you are using are the old ones on the most recent ship and the new ones can be found in the US parts sheet
