That sounds awesome haha The Shah's super Iranian navy is one of the cooler never weres, and there's There are Absolutely way less realistic au's out there. In fact it's as plausible as many AU scenarios, mine for example which is based around a sunken land mass in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and now happens to be above water in this AU I'm sure could be picked apart by someone knowledgable about geology and the like. Anyways I'm sure many people would agree with me that it sounds extremely entertaining and interesting

Well, I know it's not totally bad, because - after all - it's derived mostly from real-life situations and plans (so no Somali carrier battle groups or Nepalese tank armies  ). Problem is that I want to use many elements that while may not be totally implausible when taken out of context by themselves, in the broader picture will be often in conflict with some others (like UK using both Skybolt and Polaris as well as TSR.2 and Tornado - to name just such examples) - and that rather wouldn't be so awesome to some readers.
As for the entertaining part, I'm not planning to have much narration at all - I'm just too painfully aware that there would be too much opportunity for self-contradictions, continuity holes and other illogicalities. I'm thinking rather about something along the lines of The Military Balance yearbooks (rather their older format, though), although not year-by-year, but just for several select years (at about decade intervals).

There's nothing wrong with using an "invented" landmass for AU. Existence of some particular landmass may have certain influence on "world history" in certain circumstances, which should be taken into account if the AU is to remain plausible, but that's all. Unless You're giving detailed descriptions of the processes that led to creation of that particular landmass millions of years ago (that may turn out to be scientifically impossible), then it's something that could be only taken at face-value - lands simply are.

So your telling me that Vanuatu won't have Ballistic submarines and Liechtenstein is not conquering Wester Europe with the second Holy Roman Empire using robot medieval soldiers...where's the fun in that? :D
Hey drawings are drawings and cold war never were's with your drawing ability sounds great to me though I absolutely see your point about the contradictions and overlaps adding some problems. However, even in this broad context the idea of a really intense cold war (at least thats how I'm thinking your situation is in my mind) is not too over the top in my opinion at all.
For my AU, well Zealandia does exist underwater in real life and New Zealand is its overwater outcrop so it can't be too otherworldly of a situation. At least thats what I'm hoping  :? .

My drawing ability?
I think we might have a small misunderstanding. When I wrote that it's not for SB and rather about something along the lines of The Military Balance yearbooks it mean there it's not about drawings, but rather something like this:

Great liveries, Trojan!
Like you say with my choice of the Jaguar, sometimes the aircraft chosen by a country is not the best available and often in the real world too because of politics, hence my choice of a British aircraft. I'd love to see some F-4's if you decide that Zealandia would have some, and maybe a potential Hornet customer?

I've often considered the F-4 but I have more of an affinity to the Buccaneer because of Zealandia's colonial history and I feel its a bit different since it wasn't used in life. Operating both is possible but I kinda feel for a nation with the defense needs of Zealandia they overlap a bit even though I know the UK used both together. If its plausible and not too expensive sounding to use both I gladly would, but I feel the F-20 Buccaneer combo seems like a cheaper way to go for now. Hornet maybe as a never were, but I haven't really given it much thought as I've always planned some variation of Mustang and Kangaroo goes to Meteor and Vampire goes to Hunter and Saber goes to Super Tiger goes to Tigershark or Phantom with the latter two either getting joined by the Lavi or V-1100 or going straight to a F-15E and Super Gripen combo. I'll give it more thought though for sure, I can't really argue with the hornet's many advantages. Actually on second thought, a F-17 or F-18L is sounding pretty appealing 8-)
