I'm going to regret telling you guys this, but I've given hints of it in the past so here we go.

You can easily fit a full 64 cell Mk 41 package into the barbette of a Montana. The VLS package is 343 inches by 249 inches, which gives a corner to corner distance of 423 inches. The barbette inner diameter is 447 inches. This gives you about a foot for structural supports and clearances on each corner.

that does well include that the barbette armor is a part of that structure?

I went with the 32 cells because I didn't know barbette size, good to know!

Removing guns and adding something as cowardly as "missiles" is a pathetic example of how low our society has fallen.

We can just go Shillelagh, best of both worlds!

Wow, why didn't I think of that... the Shillelagh is a particularly manly weapon. So, equip this ship with the 16" version of Shillelagh and you're done. The best of both worlds.
