Apart from what has been said by Timothy, see Real Life merchant ships of the type you want.
Some points
First the funnels, which although look o.k they are too far apart. Most ships with a dummy funnel had the aft most funnel as a dummy (there were exceptions of course, but as a general rule it is correct)
Deck heights on your ship vary, the deck above the life boats seems too low, especially when compared to the deck below it.
If it is a passenger carrying ship, than most cabins are usually in the hull itself, so you'll have a lot of port holes in the hull example, or here.
If it is a passengers ferry/cruise ship than Timothy's example is excellent for a modern ship, and of course there are many others.
Bridge wings are usually open and extend from the bridge. Some have the navigation light, and on Shipbucket it is green as we display the starboard side of the ship (you don't have green and red together)
your fore deck is too empty. Either you have cargo there or more money earning cabins, again look at Real Life ships .
After you have completed the drawing add some details and shading and you'll do fine.

Yeah, I think that was the one I looked up and there was an image of an incredibly hot chick scraping barnacles off the prop.

When I first started on the superstructure I was going for classical, but with a modern touch, as with the designers of the QM2 did. However though she'll be a cruise ship but as mentioned with a mixture, not too overdone like mega cruise ships(yuck).
Now for where the lifeboats are located, the deck they are on is a deck onto it's self (Makes little sense) but the boat deck is a combination of two decks. Decks top to bottom Sun Deck(the upper most where the bridge is), A Deck, B Deck, C Deck, D Deck, E Deck. Where in the lifeboats are C & D decks are combined to create the Boat deck which extends from starboard to port.

I'd say the finished product is like I first envisioned. The Princess Lillian of Princess Lines based in Port Winston, Alkoul; she is the first of the Princess Class of ships her sisters will be named; (Princess) Kelly, Grace and Anna. Each will have a capacity of 1,370 including crew of 350, the six lifeboats have a capacity of 1,320. As this is an AU ship Alkoul's standards that lifeboats must carry up to 90% of the ships total capacity.

First, you decks are insanely short. I count values between five and a half and seven feet. I'd up that to no less than eight and a half.
Second, I'd change the rear profile to a less full hull in front of the pods to improve waterflow and make them worth while.
Third, it's hard to imagine a wold without the SOLAS (International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea) requirements which state that you need enough lifeboats for everyone (this was in the 1914 regs). I have a few other critiques, but those should probably be addressed first.

How exactly do can I tell the height of each deck I might make it too tall.
Alkoul's are some of the best in that world, other nations (No, no international organization, individual nations set their own standards) let ships carry none.
