In my opinion it all has to do with the "America F-YEAH!" mentality that the military has.

Its kind of hard for them not to givin the gutting their service has taken in the last 10 years. However, I know a few who are down right giddy about the new carriers and I am sure having a real carrier in service for the first time in what, 35 years (???), will inject some esprit de corps back into them!
