As for the Zulu class... :(
-wrong template,
-wrong crediting (if You used - and it seems that You did) ship drawn by someone else as basis for Your work You MUST credit that person,
-missiles should be positioned above the launcher,
-this ship is too small for such large missiles - where is the magazine? Below? Not enough space (missile is longer then You've got space to keel). In the superstructure? Don't seem to be of proper shape,
-location of radars seem bit odd too.
:(
Thank you for your critique.
It is a WiP but that dose not excuse me.

I'll put the ship in a proper template,
-Credits will be fixed.
-Missile will be moved.
-I forgot that there need to be reloads for the SAM, an embarrassing mistake.
Location of the Radars, and the Radars themselves are a problem.
I have little knowledge about early SAM radars and there set up.
I tried to make it look plausible, but I will need to research the topic...

I made the assumption that a early land based road mobile SAM complex weighted circa 300tonnes.
Removing 4 130mm guns and ammo plus 8 610mm torpedo tubes and torpedoes will give me the weight needed.
I have forgot how much space dose a SAM complex takes up.

I think that 1960's SAM will fit on a 2000t destroyer.
The alternative is going for a dedicated ASW ship.

this is about the smallest you can go with an missile that size. there were not many missiles on board and the FCS was a joke, but she was DDG-1 nonetheless.

Second attempt.
The middle radar dish is the air track radar.
Radar dish foward and aft are target illumination radars for Semi-active radar homing SAM's

The ship has room to carry 10 SAM's
2 on the launchers.
2 in the reload mechanism
6 in the magazine.

There is space for even more but that will require for the missiles to be stored with the busters separated.

as for the template photoBucket insist on re sizing my images, for some reason.
I need to fix that before posting this ship in the proper template.

Actually back in those days missiles were stored with boosters separated - often with stabilizer fins separated too.
Generally back then SAM of such size would be rather fitted to a cruiser. ;)
Masts - especially the middle one, looks to thin (and radar too offset of centre) to bear that weight.

It is based on the mast from USS Mississippi (AG-128)

This ship started life as one 12 destroyers build with Japanese technical support.
The class was build 1934-1944.

Now I'm trying to make a believable modernisation program.
Out of 12, three will have SAM installed while the remaining 9 will became dedicated ASW ships.

Those programs will give valuable info that will help in designing a modern guided missile destroyer

next ship same fleet same setting.
Do to in character problems with developing a practical Surface to Air Missile and(Out of character I cannot think good)
Zulu navy ordered a class of 1500t frigates to compliment and partially replacing existing destroyers.

Hope you like it, and I ask for pointing out any thing wrong with this little ship.

The image has been resized, because of the new Photobucket rules. Please read page 3 the post by WhyMe how to fix the Photobucket problems.

Besides resizing, I'd say that these radars aft of the island aren't the good idea. Besides limited coverage they will be emitting lots of microwaves straight into men, aircraft, fuel and armament on the deck.
