Very interesting and well drawn. Lots of portholes, reminds me of a commercial conversion than a purpose-built warship but they would have been very useful as escort carriers.

Seems like a very fancy escort carrier, in other words. Kind of like a Casablanca or Commencement Bay - they weren't conversions of merchant ships either, designed from the ground-up as carriers just using merchant machinery.

The cats are extremely interesting. LOL, Germany.

And here's the updated version of Graf Zeppelin in 1943: A new atlantic bow, a tube mast for flight- and gun control and a funnel cap to keep the mast top clean. All 20mm singles were replaced with quads and radar equippment added. To counter the additional weight, torpedo bulges were added on both sides, but with different steel thickness to stabilize the ship.
