Might I suggest some heavy machine guns, perhaps 2-4 Millenium 35mm or Mk44 Bushmaster. The 8" guns probably won't be quick enough to deal with small boat attacks all by themselves.
I would move the SLQ-32s back so they are between the VLS cells so that they are not interfered with as much when you are shooting from the VLS. The last think you want to do is be shooting aircraft with your standards but miss the indications and warnings or a missle popping up over the horizon fired by that same targeted aircraft earlier.
That of course puts them right below the RAM which gives you the same problem. Honestly though you don't want you RAM there anyway as it will be firing over top of your VLS for nearly all of its arc meaning WCS is going to safe one of those systems while the other is firing spelling potential disaster. I would suggest outright replacing your forward or aft Phalanx's with the RAM as those mounts are much better located. If you want SPY independant CIWIS maybe SeaRAM? I realize the Burkes also have this issue with their CIWIS but for much less of their firing arc and since you have so much deck space you don't have to make that compromise.
Lower your chaff/flare launchers to the deck below and outboard of the VLS so they are not firing into and over the VLS.
You have the same overfire with your harpoons, though tactis wise you are much less likely to be firing those and VLS/RAM at the same time.
Also, your aft top director is direcly in front of your SPY array, it needs to be relocated of the array moved higher.
What is everyone's thoughts on the armored mast? I think it might be worth removing the armor from the SPY deck and above to save weight. The SPY arrays themselves can't be armored effectively and are essentially large holes directly into the armored enclosure. Given the time period of this vessel its not really going to be defending against other large gunned ships and missiles are all going to be going for the water line, maybe the superstructure but definetly not the mast that high. Just a thought, but given the weight of those 8" turrets over all those 5" ones removed (would they be more?) you might need to save that weight.
thanks for the feedback, i'll fix the points you noticed while keep working on her.
meanwhile, the top view is slowly progressing, with some adjustments to the side view also in order to make things match (and to adress some small errors).
