Hmmm, not fully demilitarized Karle
Utah was converted into a target-ship and by late 1930's, this ship was used to test few new US AA guns/fire control systems (she was sunk while serving in this use at Pearl Harbor...).

During 1930's, Wyoming was converted into a training ship (her side armor & some of her guns gun being removed). Projects to convert Wyoming first into an expeditionary force support ship and then back into a battleship failed, and she spent the war as a conbination training ship/AA experimental ship.

it is not entirely right to say they were demilitarized (they were "second" or "third" front-line use)

It would be nice to see draw:

Wyoming in 1942
(with two twin 305mm forward, one aft and some 5"......I do not call it demilitarized :? )

This thread is an excellent example of what Shipbucket is all about.

South Carolina and Delaware were two of the first ships I drew as a new member. It's nice to see them improved. They look much better now than my original effort.

I put the Loening OL on the catapults because I don`t lnow which plane would have been mounted there. My assuption comes from the fact that the Forida had one or two on board.

Interesting to see the various ships retained the stern casemate guns as late as they did

definitely an amazing thread here, well done Karle.

the only nitpick i migh have is that you could shade a bit the upper level casemate area to show better that they were sponsoned out of the hull.
