Btw. - if the funnel is rounded, I'd shade it a bit to show that.

On the new built 1987 version the funnel is square.

A very impressive entrance. My only question at this time is, are the hull portholes that small? We tend to stick to 4x4 size portholes for clarity unless its clear the portholes are smaller than normal. Generally though I see no other major issues and this is a very good job. I think we've got a lot to look forward too!

from looking at the photographs i dont think they are port holes, they appear to be drainage for the open section of deck that run the lenght of the ship and are sheleterd at various pionts.

That explains it then.

an update on work so far, still lots to do but couldn't resist making a start on a few other class members. incidently i realised i was looking at the wrong length and displacement figures for the new built Sir Galahad here is the ship at its correct lenght of almost 140meters. 14meters larger than its preedesesor


the original ship damaged and subsiquently scuttled off south faulkland as a war grave.

and after she emerged from her massivly expensive SLEP rebuild in 1998 which saw her length increase by 11 meters and her displacement increase from 5,550 to 7,700 tons.
