We're just about to get the taxi, so a quick one. Portsmouth minor (grandson) has asked me to bring him back from the USA a 'Dipsy' cap, flat peaked. I'm assuming this is a baseball cap, but I can't find it on Google. Does any of our USA members know what this is, and is it easy to get?

Thanks :)

I think he means a flat-billed baseball cap, one of the most horrible things ever foisted on the male populace. Do him a favor and don't bring one back. They are truly a scourge.

If you're inside an establishment, any thinking gentleman will remove his cap. The wearer of the "Dipsy" cap almost inevitably does not. That should be enough evidence to keep one out of your grandson's possession.

For additional proof, here's a photo of a certified enemy of Western civilization wearing one:

Most major malls have a store dedicated to them, and nearly any sports apparel store has them as well (including some shoe stores).

Every time I see persons with those caps on, I just ask them (With a type of Gentleman voice, Perhaps a bit "Picard"): "You'r mom called, you forgot you'r brain!"

Owing to the incredible lack of taste, civility and decency that seems to permeate our society these days.

On the other hand that does happen to be a Pirates cap and, uh, well...ugh, I hate how Pittsburgh sports teams suck.
