Hello again

Thanks for the praise, all of you. Derfflinger had her aft funnel painted red during the battle of Jutland only, probably as a measure to avoid friendly fire (though she attracted a lot of enemy fire, judging by how she looked when she returned home; maybe not so good an idea after all, but it surely looks impressive).

Thanks for the colour table, heuhen, but I am not really sure the imperial navy used the same colours as the Kriegsmarine in WWII (whose colours these tables represent). Since it is standard sb practice to paint the superstructure slightly brighter than the hull, I just used standard colours, I think they fit the imperial navy quite well.

By the way - after Mackensen seems to be claimed - does anyone have the Thüringen-class, the Ersatz-Yorck-class and the L-20-Alpha-class on their worklist?

Greetings

Fantastic work, although the Lützow would do so much more nicely with the same red "Skagerrack"-coloring of her aft funnel. After all, that was her one - and only - great moment! Also, the vessels certainly would benefit having the colors raised, and in Lützow's case have Vizeadmiral Franz Hipper's pendant flying. (Now, if you could find out the exact signal flags used when commencing the "Run to the South" for instance, that'd be absolutely awesome, and would create a handsome pendang to Jabba's excellent HMS Lion as of Jutland!)

Very nice work. If you wish, try with shade under the anti-torpedo net (1916). ;)

The Ersatz-Yorck-class was done by Ashley in his KM46 AU, but never officially uploaded. While most of his later conversions are of course pure speculation and AU, his 'as-built version' would be close to the 'real' design can be found here. Maybe you can use that as a basis.

As for the L20 Alpha, there was a request for sources here, but as far as I now, nothing has come out of it.

Hello again!

The torpedo nets are shaded, Lützow got her red funnel, and CoAs have been added. I did a 1914 version of Derfflinger with the 88s below the bridge (she did not have them any more at the time of Jutland, little mistake on the first painting, the 1916 version has them removed now).

No flags for any of my ships though, especially German ones. The imperial white ensign has degenerated into a Neo-Nazi symbol these days, and I am not going to use it on any of my pics; I would even ask all of you not to modify them with flags, too. Otherwise, as always, everyone is invited to use any part of my pics for any real or AU application whatsoever.
