A glorious addition Hood. (And yes I'm aware that Bombhead used the same term)
A very nice drawing, of a ship that could not realize its full potential. Her escorting destroyers were Acasta and Ardent, both were also sunk, but Acasta managed to torpedo the Scharnhorst abreast the aft turret before being sunk.

Apparently, one of the reasons she sailed alone (except for close escort) was that the captain wanted to get back to port asap, due to to an impending court martial of the officer in charge of air. He and the captain had fallen out to the extent that both accused each other of being unfit for duty due to mental instability. Certainly, the decision to sail without reasonable escort was a foolhardy decision on the part of the captain.

(I'm currently reading a book on the Scharnhorst: 'Scharnhorst'by Alf R Jacobsen, which is very informative on the loss of the Battlecruiser at North Cape.)

A completed Glorious as she looked in 1935 with top view and port view.
Thanks, as ever, to Bombhead for the top view and innumerable photos and source materials.

:o Beautiful! I just love the balance of detail: Enough to make it stand out, but not so much that it's cluttered.

I salute you sir! :D
