They haven't been drawn; someone plans to draw them, but I forget who.

I was planning on doing either the Odori class or Chidori class, but seeing BB1987 work on the other IJN ships, convinced me to relinquish any claims I had on those. As far as I'm concerned BB1987 can do it. I know the'll turn out better that way.

Dear BB1987,

I've just registered to the forum to say a hefty thank you for all the splendid work you have submitted here. I'm really impressed, especially with the never-were ships as these are my favourites.

Do you plan to draw the Kongo class as well as the "Japanese Lexington's" from the Hiraga archives? (See my Discussion Board's topic on them:

http://www.phpbbplanet.com/forum/viewto ... ipprojects

Best Regards,

Akos

hi, bucket member Erusia_Force will draw the Kongos, as for the "japanese lexingtons" i cannot see the thread you linked ecause i'm not a member on warships projects forum; i've recently drawn many ships planned and designed for the Hachi.Hachi fleet using Kojinsha book "Battleships and battlecruisers of hachi-hachi fleet" as reference, if those ships you're talikning about are not part of that project i would kindly ask you to PM me their blueprints and specs you've posted on the other forum, as i can't see them as said before.

Regards.

Hi BB1987,

seems my ID isn't displayed yet as I've just joined.

No unfortunately these Jap Lexingtons are not among the ones in the Hachi-Hachi book (I have the book). It's from the Hiraga archives of Tokyo University (the Hachi Hachi design originals are from there as well).

Design A:

I've much bigger pdf versions as well where you can make out dimensions.

particulars for G:

The original blueprints are quite faded but not useless fortunately. I'll be glad to post the originals by PM, but I'll just load the pics here if you don'T mind.

Thanks,

Akos from Hungary

PS - if you are interested in these never were designs I'd recommend you join my forum, there are some very nice Japanese CV concepts predating Akagi as well ;) also some other jap BB designs from the B6x series

Also some itiner for the Hiraga archives if you want more on oyur own:

I'm going to post a method I've used successfully to get from the homepage to the images. The images - especially those of the ships plans are well worth spending time looking at and there is a lot of detail in the drawings.

Again, I recommend using Firefox or any other web browser that will open the image files full size. MS Explorer only gives a small window to peek through. Once You've opened the images you can zoom and pan.

1. Go to the Hiraga Archive homepage - here is a link to it at the University of Tokyo website.

http://rarebook.dl.itc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/hi ... ode=logout

2. Click on the big red button at the bottom of the page this will lead you to a page with a grid on it (the first page of the archive) at the right there is a column of blue buttons - click on the top one and this should take you to a page which has a thumbnail of a graph of Mikasa's speed/power curves. In the middle of the link there is the number 20140101

http://rarebook.dl.itc.u-tokyo.ac.jp/hi ... VlJg%3D%3D

This number identifies the image.

3. Replace that with the following numbers for the following plans and hit enter

For B61 - 22053001

For B62 - 21930101

For B63a - 21930801

For B62 B63 A B C D E F G design comparisons - 21930201

For B64 - 21930301

For 'A' - 21930401

For 'D' - 21930501

For 'G' - 21930601

Each of these should bring up the page with a thumbnail of the image you are trying to see.

4. Click on the thumbnail and it should open in a new window that lets you zoom and pan.

Good luck and sorry for this confusion!

thanks again,
BB1987.
