Just two remarks about the 20mm mountings:

for the single mountings please use the new ones with the correct size instead of the grossly oversized old ones

the mountings on the aft superstructure should be power operated twins with a small cabin for the operator at the side. Instead you have used quadruple 0.5 inch machine gun mountings which have never been aboard the Howe.

I would love to replace them with better lookings and sizeable, but it seems to me, that I've got the last updated RN guns parts sheet. In that there are only these, so please provide me a link.

Regarding quad HMG or not, my sources (maritimequest is the one, the other which claim they were attached according the 1943-1944 refit, I can't find). The only real picture which shows the armament on the aft supestructure clear, they are covered with canvas. I've got a picture of a model which shows 0.5 quad there. The sources are not 100% but I have no reason to doubt on it. If you have some informations that says other and they are 100% valid I will gladly change to the power operated (20mm ?) twins

I've never heard of any RN ship receiving the useless qaud MGs that late in the war.

Whitley's 'Battleships of World War Two' says; Howe completed with six Mk VI octuple pom-poms and 18 single 20mm. By mid-1943 another 22 single 20mm were added (totalling 40). Dec 43- May 44 refit added two quad US-pattern 40mm, two Mk VI octuple pom-pom and four Mk V twin 20mm. The single 20mm were reduced to 34. The June-Sept 45 Durban refit added six qaud Mk VII pom-poms and 18 single 40mm Bofors. All 20mm singles were removed. Jan-March 46 the six Mk VII and eight single Bofors were removed. May 48 - June 49 the qaud Bofors were removed.

Ian Sturton 'All the World's Battleships' indicates Howe received 14 single Bofors, a discrpency of 4 mounts... Generally Whitley's info is more detailed so I'd believe that entry more than the rather brief entry in Sturton's book (which is the same text as Conway's 1922-46).

That's very interesting. The four weapons on the aft superstructure may then be 20 mm twins as Meyer claim? Do you know the right placement of the two quad US-pattern 40 mm?
