I can only add my appreciation for these and your other work now appearing; along with the new material coming through on Germany and Japan, it is good to see the forum opening up now to include more of the worlds great warship designs :)

Hello

The Aventuriers were fitted with american machinery for which the US refused to deliver spare parts in the first years of the war, so the French replaced them with home-built engines left over from an abandoned battleship project. They ended up with only 2/3 of their designed hp and were 10 (in words: ten!) knots slower than designed, aside from suffering from frequent engines mishaps.
