Thank you Bombhead, that's a good picture which shows the transmitter very clear. It's certainly good enough to make the drawing much more trustworthy, and you know I'm keen on the details are so correct as possible

Thanks for all your encouragements. I've decided I will draw her nearly complete - without railings, camo-paint and some minor details - and then use it as base for 1. as build (1942), 2. as used in WWII (1944) and 3. post war (1946 or 1947).

I'm really close completing the basic 1944 version of Howe. I've tried to identify the directors (pointed with red arrows) but couldn't find any text besides they where different after refit 1943-1944 than before But the text doesn't mentioned which director either of them were Looking at pictures didn't help me, because no ones at the RN parts sheet look alike. Anyone of you mates with the right knowledge out there?

The closest thing I could find, from Linkory Vtoroj Mirovoj: Note that the quote is translated by me into english, so it might not be grammaticaly correct, but the data should be(presuming the book isn't wrong, or if I've missunderstood something).

I din't know much about directors and radars, but iv seen the top one on the drawing of the INS Eilat.

HMS Howe was completed like HMS Anson. During their service life they were different in their light AA guns mainly Pom-Poms and 20 mm. The fire control for main battery fire was by AFCT (Admiralty Fire Control Table)- in fact an electromechnical analogue computer which was below deck inside the armoured citadel. The DCT (Director Control Tower) was atop the bridge and in fact was an armored range-finder. It appears in the RN Parts sheet as "Main Range Finder 1938", although its a generic one.
The AA directors were Mk. V HACS which were used by HMS Howe and HMS Duke of York. HMS Anson the last ship completed had the MK. VI HACS. The Mk. V HACS can also be found in the RN Pars Sheet as "HACS" also a generic one.
