Shall we have the HMS Cornish Pasty?

Either go with Cavour, or enlarge that one. I have my own (rejected) version of this I did for a friend that you might consider using if you upscale it. [ img ]

I will point out that it is unfinished, as its rejection occured before I added the final touches.

With a new recent discovery there is an oil field between the Outer Hebrides and Northern Island. Along with this there is a new way of mining coal and iron without CO2 emissions. This is enough money to bring the price we charge England for its water down to what it was paying the private water company in the first case.

Also there has been an order for 2 Burkes to and 4 LCS to replace all ships used as escorts. Also the modification of Largs Bay is now complete.

The carrier is going to eventually used as a helicopter carrier when we can order a larger carrier. The options are the CdG second hand with another existing carrier, 1 cvf or 1 Super-Carrier second hand with Lusty. Any advice please?

ASTER doesn't need illuminators - it uses inertial & command guidance for midcourse with active radar terminal homing. A multi-function radar such as SAMPSON, EMPAR, Herakles etc is required to track the target and outgoing missile, with a command uplink allowing for corrections to be transmitted to the missile to ensure it is close enough for its' own radar to handle the terminal phase. ASTERs up-and-over flightpath would make the use of a dedicated narrow field of view tracker radar unsuitable, as it could not track the missile and target at once. The existing surveillance radars are also insufficient to use the system in anything other than a reversionary mode (i.e. no midcourse updates and hope the target isn't manoeuvring).

LCS! BURKE! you are making an british based AU, right? why do you keep buying American equipment? they would also be a very bad idea for escort tasks: I would better buy 4-6 opv's (such as the dutch holland class) and 2 multipurpose warships.

He's buying American equipment because he doesn't want to pay 3 times as much for it. The LCS is horridly overpriced, however, and an awful product. As I put it earlier, a frigate sized vessel with corvette armament and cruiser price. All the bad things about the F-35 are magnified about fivefold for LCS.

If you want a good frigate, it's hard to go wrong with Absalon or derived hulls.

I stick by my desicion to purchase the Burkes but the aft VLS has been replaced by SLYVER so that it can lauch Scalp Naval and ASTER. The forward launcher fires ESSM, VL ASROC Harpoon.

With regards to patrol vessels the following is ready.

It is the Lake Class OPV of which pics will follow

There is no reason why the Mk-41 can't launch ASTER or Scalp Naval.

Ilike this idea! In fact a few years ago I drew the ensigns etc for a modern Scottish navy! But, as for the Type 22 BIII, it's not quite up to date. The speedboat (rhib) on either side of the funnel is missing for instance, and surely, if they'd acquire these ships, those would be retro fitted to all, and not just the Cumberland, which is the one vessel currently equipped with it. Swin lad,if you write a message to me I can supply you with my copy of the Cumberland, so you can see. I also changed a few other things on this and the Chatham. That way you may assure yourself to have the latest info on these beautiful ships!
