Really strange that they would retain the 3/50s with Sea Sparrow and in fact land the launcher ahead of the guns.

Indeed. In the late 70s, the USN decreed that the 3"/50 was now to be considered only an ASuW weapon, which is why all ships had their 3"/50 directors removed. Presumably the Iwos kept them as defense against swimmers and small boats. Still, it does look strange; the blast from the Sea Sparrow would sweep the forward mount, not a good thing.
